THE CHARLOTTE COUNTY MUSEUM
WHO WE ARE
Charlotte County has unique aspects to its history and our museum offers visitors the opportunity to view glimpses of life from the late 18th century onward.
The museum reflects the immigration of early settlers - the Loyalists, the Scots and the Irish - and illustrates their ties with the American Northeast. Permanent displays include lumbering and shipbuilding, early Chinese porcelain, furniture and temple doors, industries that prospered in the past (the cotton mill and soap factory) to those that continue to this day (Ganong Bros. candy factory), 19th century gowns, samplers and quilts, a country kitchen, tool shed and music room as well as a representation of an early Charlotte County school room.
